I am currently reading a new book by Dr. Jodi Carrington called, “Kids These Days”. This Canadian author covers a lot of fascinating material about why kids do what they do. I really appreciated a whole chapter devoted to kids with a trauma history, including foster children. We are anticipating a wonderful Spring Concert on Thursday, May 2. The theme for the concert is “Summer Camp”. The program features our grade 3 and 4 students and includes choral singing and some drama. We have decided to add a second concert, so the shows are at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the gym. On Thursday, February 28, the grade 1-4 students will share their learning with you. This student led event will run from 4:30 – 6:00 pm and all parents are invited to join their children. January 25th is the date of our annual South Oaks Winter Fun Day. Many exciting activities have been planned for that day, including outdoor activities, a wagon ride, and a warm lunch catered by the South Oaks Parent Council.
